Admission Guide

Key points – Admission guidelines for New Zealand

Select intake for application: February, July, or November. February is the main intake in New Zealand, with the most number of programs and scholarships available. July and November are smaller intakes, with fewer options and opportunities. You should start your application process at least 6 to 12 months before your desired intake.

● Research and shortlist the universities and programs that match your academic profile, interests, and budget. You can speak to our overseas education consultants to learn about the admission requirements, deadlines, fees, rankings, and scholarships of different universities and programs in New Zealand.

● Appear for the English language tests required by your chosen universities and programs, such as IELTS, TOEFL, PTE, or CAEL.

● Apply to your shortlisted universities through their official websites. Submit an online application form and upload your academic transcripts, English language test scores, and any other supporting documents as required by the university and program. (Application fee of NZD 75 to NZD 250 depending on the university and program).

● If accepted, confirm the offer and pay a tuition deposit within the specified deadline.

● Apply for a student visa from the New Zealand government – show proof of acceptance
from a Designated Learning Institution (DLI), proof of financial support, proof of identity, and medical examination results. The student visa fee is NZD 330.

Visa Guidelines

The Canadian government grants a valid study permit to every overseas student who plans to attend school/university there. This permit is valid for the duration of the student’s study program, with an additional 90 days. The student can use these extra 90 days to be ready to leave Canada or to seek a visa extension. Review the steps to be followed while applying for a study permit for Canada.

Steps for Application of New Zealand Study Visa

1. Requirements for New Zealand’s study visa:
● An offer letter from recognized education provider
● Evidence of funds for: Tuition fee, Accommodation & living expenses for a year
approximately, NZ$ 15,000, Return ticket to home
● Valid Passport
● Medical Certificate & Police Verification Certificate
● English Language Proficiency Test
2. Apply study visa online- New Zealand High Commission’s (NZHC) website New Zealand Study Visa Application fee: NZD 330*
3. Secure supporting documents for student visa application
*The list of documents might vary depending on each student’s course and qualification*
4. Secure the documentation completely and submit the visa application online on NZHC’s website 5. Qualify the mandatory telephonic interview
6. Finalize the Fund Transfer Scheme (FTS) process for living expenses and pay the tuition fees
7. Submit the proof of successful payment of Tuition Fee and FTS to the New Zealand High Commission
8. Accept passport request for verification
9. Submit original passport along with processing charge to the TTS service for verification Passport handling charge at Visa Center: NZD 15.8. (* Subject to Change)
NOTE: Prior to submitting their visa applications, students must acquire health insurance. There is, however, a choice between using the university’s health insurance or any other private health insurance scheme.
